Welcome
I am a qualified counsellor and registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I offer short and long-term counselling to individuals and couples in central Bristol.
I provide a confidential place for you to explore feelings and issues at your own pace. Having a supportive place to talk about your life with someone objective and professional can help to bring clarity and understanding and achieve goals you have for the future. I can work with you to gently increase acceptance of yourself and any difficulties in your life and support you to reduce reliance on unhealthy habits, make positive changes and improve relationships.
You may be experiencing feelings or distress that you want to explore, you may feel stuck or unable to solve a problem in your life or you may need some time and space to improve your wellbeing.
Counselling sessions can be both reassuring and challenging. I can offer comfort and support whilst also helping you to gently face difficult feelings and realities. My experience informs me that a counselling relationship which is both supportive and challenging creates an environment where real change and transformation can take place.
Issues that I work with include:
- feeling lost, unhappy or lonely
- anxiety and panic
- relationship problems
- sexuality and sexual problems
- parenthood
- low confidence and self-esteem
- issues connected to identity
- abuse and trauma
- feelings of anger and rage
- addiction
- depression
- suicidal feelings and thoughts
- crisis or dealing with change
- loss and bereavement
Counselling is usually a mid to long-term process completed on an open-ended basis.
